2 sides laminated

1 side is perfect, other one glue attached to quick and couldn't recover so on 1 side there is a small gap about 3mm thinking of sanding that away. realy anoying stuff :)

First test HPL

My first test (backside) went well after i tried to scissor it (dont do that) then i put the sheets on 2 wooden pannels and sawed in between, did some ducktape where i saw, all went well.

After i glued the sheet and panel with contact glue, then after 5-7 minutes it was dried enough to put the 2 parts together, then it immediate is locked.
Did some pressure with a roller (rubber one) then after 5 minutes i routed the overlap and was verry pleased with the result.

HPL i ordered is in

2 verry heavy hpl sheets, these are extreme tuf and durable also used in kichens for the workbench

Cabinet art

Finished my designs for the side, joystick and marquee art, and thanks to boris to make the rendering.

T-Molding

T-Molding arived today so i disassemled my cabinet so i could route the space for the t-molding

Control parts are deliverd

Control parts are delivered, ordered them from arcadeshop.de
Then i drilled the 28mm holes for the push buttons and routed some space for the joysticks

Inner frame

time to make the inner frame, used 2.2 cm wooden bars to make the skeleton for the inner frame.

2 side done, now its time for the inner pannels

And yes i use a 22" lcd monitor instead of a traditional crt monitor, and have a piano hinge to get to the control pannel.

Getting the shape.

Sawing and rooting the side panels

After
printing the design, i printed it out on loads of A4 papers and stick it together, also made a raster so i know where to join the papers.

I sawed the first side with a jigzaw then i sanded till it was nice curvy.

After that i made a copy with a router

Getting the wood

Its handy to have a convertible to get some wood :)

Designs Arcade Cabinet

For a long time i allways wanted my own Arcade Cabinet, so i finaly started my own arcade cabinet project, i will keep it updated till its finisched.

First i made some designs in illustrator on scale, its based on the original pac-man design, only i made it a bit higher.
